As tax season is upon us, make sure you don’t get scammed. Many of you are self-employed, which means that you might be eligible for tax credits available under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. You can get more information from the IRS on that HERE.
Take this email with you to your tax professional to assess whether you’re eligible for tax credits under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 — or others.
In the meantime, beware of scams. There are vendors advertising a “Self-Employment Tax Credit” (or “SETC”) — this tax credit does not exist. The IRS has warned individuals about this. Again, make sure you are talking to your trusted tax professionals before filing taxes for yourselves and your businesses.
